What is a Spreadsheet Program?
Simply spreadsheet is a paper containing a grid of rows, columns and cells used mainly for accounting and other calculations. A computer Spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, makes those calculations much more powerful, speedy and easier to perform than doing the same work on paper.
A spreadsheet contains data in a two dimensional format consisting of rows and columns. Computer spreadsheets visually appear to be just a table like it is in Microsoft Word, however the rows and columns in Excel are much more than that and are very powerful tools for calculations.
